What is a saline chlorinator for?
Very simple! The function of the salt chlorinator is to automatically and effectively disinfect the pool water through a process called "salt electrolysis".
The electrolysis of salt works simply: the slightly salty pool water passes through the electrolytic cell, where the salt is transformed into chlorine gas, a powerful disinfectant that dissolves instantly in water. This eliminates microorganisms in the cell and keeps the pool at an adequate level of free chlorine.
The AstralPool Smart Next chlorinator can be installed in any in-ground pool of up to 180 m³ and operates with a recommended salt level of 5 g/L to ensure efficient disinfection.
